NAIL is the cutting edge ensemble...
...of veteran NY session keyboardist and Orange county resident Neil Alexander. Since forming in 1997, Neil Alexander & NAIL
continues to be committed to the future of Jazz and improvised music.
With a diverse stylistic palette and fierce musicianship, the ensemble
skillfully blends modern and traditional forms with experimental
concepts and electronic music. Their performance roster has included
opening for John Scofield, The Blue Note in NYC, and many other
festivals and clubs.
 Although NAIL performs primarily original music, their sets can contain works by such varied artists as Bill Frisell, Bill Evans and Jeff Beck,
as well as funk and “unusual” arrangements of classic jazz
standards. Their music covers the whole range of musical possibilities
- from hard swinging post bop to heavy rock instrumentals and sustained
dreamy soundscapes – and at the core remains an emphasis on
improvisation: jazz.
Recorded live in the studio, their new CD "TUGGING AT THE INFINITE" is a musical tour de force demonstrating the groups tremendous versatility. Neil Alexander & NAIL
